San Diego is getting pied! Gordon and I are beyond thrilled that The Loneliest Girl in the World is slated for a world premiere at Diversionary Theatre in San Diego next year! The production will be directed by Diversionary's artistic director Matt Morrow, and will run from May 24-July 2, 2018.
Founded in 1986, Diversionary’s mission is to “provide an inspiring and thought provoking theatrical platform to explore complex and diverse LGBT stories, which influence the larger cultural discussion” and to “foster and amplify the next generation of LGBT voices by providing live entertainment in a dynamic, inclusive and provocative environment that celebrates and preserves our unique culture.” You can check out their season announcement or read up on their whole season on their website.
The production is supported by a generous grant from the National Alliance for Musical Theatre -- you can check out other grant recipients here!
Gordon and I are excited to be working with the American Musical Theatre Academy this spring! Our superfriend/MD collaborator extraordinaire is leading the students in AMTA's one-year preparatory program in four weeks of masterclasses on Gordon and my work. The students are great, and we've got them working on material from six of our shows. What fun!
