Gordon and I are so excited to be spending the week in the good company of Ben Kamine and Rich Silverstein for a workshop of our new musical, PIED, about the life of Anita Bryant. We'll be working with members of The Flea's resident acting company, the Bats. Look forward to a season full of baking puns from yours truly. Writer's Block Songwriters Night 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) Wednesday 6/5, 11pm No cover ($20 minimum...but the food and drinks are tasty!) This month, featuring the musical stylings of JULIA MEINWALD , MATT SCHATZ, and SETH BISEN-HERSH. And as always, hosted by the one and only JOE ICONIS. SONGWRITER'S OPEN-MIC. Here's how it works: STEP ONE: Show up at 11:15pm! Sign up at the door. (Sign up sheet ends at 11:35pm) STEP TWO: Hang out, grab some drinks, and listen to some great songs by our featured songwriters and more. At some point Joe will call you up to the stage. (If you don't called, just come back next time.) STEP THREE: Get up on stage, do your ONE song (that is no longer than five minutes) and bask in the glow of the adoring crowd. Doors open at 11:00!
